My bird's sick
She's been squawked for maintenance. CFI left me a message stating it has something to do with fuel tanks. The online club info just says "fuel issue". I'm wondering if there's water in the tank or something. So, looks like no flight today.
I think with water in the tank, they can usually just drain it out. My flight school teaches that if you find contaminated fuel, you should just keep draining and discarding until it's clean... and then shake the wings and check again.
In military and flight operations some letters sound the same, such as c and z (unless you're north of the border or across the pond where you say "zed"). So, a phonetic alphabet is used.

24 Hour Clock Conversions
To convert from 12 hour to 24 hour time do the following: Midnight to Noon = Remove the : and add a zero before single digits. 1:00 AM becomes 0100 10:00AM becomes 1000.
After 12PM add 12 to the time and remove the :. 3:00PM becomes 1500.
For noon, just remove the : (1200). For Midnight it is technically 2400 right at midnight but become 0000 one second after. However, it is usually just written as 0000.
Pronunciation is first two numbers followed by hundred. 1000 is one-zero-hundred. 0100 is zero-one hundred. 0000 is zero hundred. 1300 is one-three hundred. It is also OK to say "thirteen hundred", "oh-one hundred" or "ten hundred", but for clarity it is often said in what I call "long form".
Jargon
I am going to spewing jargon as I learn it, some I already know and I'm sure it will end up being typed without explanation so I'm going to write a little list here for your reference because I'm nice like that.
ADI - Attitude Deviation Indicator (how far off straight and level the plane is) FBO - Fixed Base Operator or Fixed Base of Operations (airport service center) FL - Flight level (FL250 = 25,000 feet). T2A will never get to FL altitudes but the B-52 surely did. IFR - Instrument Flight Rules (flying based on instruments versus visual references) IMC - Instrument Meteorological Conditions KIAS - knots indicated airspeed MX - mission VFR - Visual Flight Rules (non-instrument flying) VMC - Visual Meteorological Conditions WX - weather Z - Zulu time (GMT) for Pacific time it's local time +8 (+7 during Daylight Savings Time).
